I’m suing Arcadia Management services for running a background and financial credit check against my permission. I’m suing for $5000 for the act and $15,000 for the punitive damages and pain and suffering..
I am a handicapped resident here that has always paid my rent on time. I had a major surgery in the works and I needed to have a personal care attendant move in while I was going to be recovering. I mentioned it to the management here at murals about my situation and immediately they wanted to run a background and credit check on everyone involved which I totally understood but at that time I hadn’t officially hired the PCA yet so I wasn’t sure exactly who I was going to have move in or when exactly it was going to take place. It was a Friday afternoon that we started talking about it and I told them that I would have a better idea the following Monday after the weekend. I explained to management that I would have the information for them well before the time needed but they went ahead and contacted the possible roommate and ran the information early and against my authority. I specifically told them not to do anything until I was ready. Even after telling the office not to do anything until I give them the information the upcoming Monday, we received financial inquiries and income verification requests the next day and it was processed without my permission. Therefore the PCA thought she had already got the job. The ladies in the office knew that I was under a lot of stress trying to accept my health condition and the toll it was taking on me to hire a stranger to live and care for me, on top of the bad news about my deteriorating health. Causing me to have a mental breakdown and even ending up in the hospital for mental health issues. This was not only against my rights as a tenant but also was completely morally wrong to do to someone in my situation.
As I said in the opening statements; I have always paid my rent on time, I do a lot extra for this building and the community that resides here and I even had lunch with the ladies in the office so I was blown away by the rude action that took place on their part. Not only was it against my rights, it was a blow to my sense of security here and my mental health at a time when I needed support versus pressure. I was appalled by the action and I had requested a meeting with the upper management that was not only ignored, when I was able to finally get a hold of someone I was sent an e-mail that started with expressing how she didn’t like my tone. Which was exactly what I was going for because they did this to me and I wanted answers as to why? Still to this day I have not been called.
So now I want Arcadia to pay for my move because I am physically unable to move myself due to my handicap. I don’t feel respected here and since this issue. Because of my nervous breakdown I scared off my PCA help, I was unable to have my surgery and it has been really hard on me emotionally having to see the management in the building.
I don’t feel it’s 100% the office's fault here at Murals. I feel they definitely have some of the responsibility for being morally wrong, but I feel Michaela (The GM I believe) is teaching them predatory procedures and unfortunately those are being passed on to the other employees. It feels more and more like a bullying, almost prison esk establishment around here than a respectable place that sees the needs of the tenants and works with them to accomplish the goals set up. Rules are in place and I followed them so I expected that they would also.
I will be attaching the communication back and forth that I had with Arcadia and I look forward to a better explanation in court. Also since this event there have been plenty of instances of things that I feel are bullying tactics and not coincidences from my furnace filter not being replaced, my furnace inspection not happening as scheduled, I had a faucet that was never installed, my package room door codes aren't accepted and these are all things that I’ve never had issues with beforehand so it could be just a weird coincidence but it's just odd.
They also sent something through the courts trying to intimidate me by saying that I wasn’t paying renters insurance, yet they charge me for it every month and I even had my own on top of that. I am totally shocked and appalled by how this has been handled. I just wanted to talk with the GM to find out why it was so urgent when I hadn’t even had things set up for sure. Now it’s a big mess and I just want to move out and find a place where I can spend whatever time I have left peacefully and respectfully.
Thank you,

And a similar case reference
I moved out at the end of May 2026 and I left the place better than when I moved in. Infact when I moved in I had to use killz (a mold stopping liquid) and paint in the bathrooms because of a leak before I moved in. Anywho, in 30 years of me renting I have never had my money taken out of my damage deposit, but Taylor Cundif and Savanah (current Murals management) not only took my full deposit, but the had the audacity to charge me an additional $160. I have a video that I will be posting soon but I am also taking them to court for this. I will include the text messaging of how I had asked if I needed to do anything before moving out because I had a handy man willing to help me with any issues and they mentioned a mirror issue and parchment paper in the drawers (which wasn’t even mentioned in the charging of my deposit). So you can imagine the shock we had when we got a bill. This is the kind of people you will be managed by.

When I was having issues with Arcadia management Taylor and Savanah I reached out to the GM Micheala because I just wanted an apology and to find out if what was going on was learned from training and she refused to call me back so I had to bring a lawsuit on. It was such a disappointment from a so-called leader. Instead she let the lawyer handle it. I was upset with myself that I was giving money to these people when they were treating me this way. I mean I always paid rent on time, I picked up the trash outside, on multiple occasions had to get the homeless and druggies that were outside the building to leave, I even sent the office flowers twice in the beginning. When I found out the practices that they used and taught others I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t done more research in the beginning before handing over my money and my respect. This has changed they way I do everything
Savanah the assistant manager wouldn’t take a written statement signed and dated stating that we wouldn’t be renewing the lease. She stated that the policy is that we had to go online and fill out that form. This is her fist job as an assistant manager at an apartment management place so she might be unaware of the law and just goes by company policy which is not the law. Taylor the manager makes this same mistake often. It was cute at first but the incompetence got old fast.
