Construction has started on I-394 between downtown Minneapolis and Hwy 100. Motorists should expect delays and plan for reduced driving lanes and ramp closures through November.
MnDOT reports the most significant delays through mid-summer will be for traffic heading westbound on I-394 from downtown Minneapolis during the afternoon rush hours.
The MnDOT construction project will make important improvements and extend the life of more than 30 bridges and the highway. Work is scheduled to be completed in November.
Travelers are encouraged to be patient, plan ahead and stay informed by visiting the I-394 project website and signing up for email updates.
In addition to the I-394 work, traffic will also be impacted by a Hwy 12 project between Wayzata and Minnetonka, which begins in early April. Motorists should expect delays, lane reductions and ramp closures through November.
All dates for the traffic impacts listed below are tentative and weather dependent. View the full list of traffic impacts and detour maps on the I-394 project website.
